The City Quilter & Bernina Sewing Machines

The City Quilter sells and supports only Bernina and Bernette sewing machines. Offering these machines complements our core business of helping people make beautiful things with fabric;
so although we would like to sell you a machine, we do not depend on machine sales, and consequently we are especially motivated to help you find the perfect machine.

The Machines

Bernettes are basic "starter" machines; but in fact will provide you with all that you need to make quilts! This series comes in four models, the 12, 15, 20 and 25, and our prices range from $ 250 to $ 550.

True Berninas begin with the Activa 215, and continue with the relatively new "3 Series", the 330, 350PE, & 380. The 350PE is the "Patchwork Edition"   model, with features and accessories that particularly serve quilters' needs.

Released in Fall, 2011, the "5 Series" consists of the 530, 550QE, & 580, with the 550 "Quilters Edition" sporting stitches and accessories of great utility to quilters, including the Bernina Stitch Regulator and walking foot.   Our classroom features twelve 550QE 's. The top of the 5 Series, the 580 features built-in embroidery capability. The line continues on with the " 7 Series ", with a 10 inch throat in these three versions: the 710, 750 "Quilters Edition, and the embroidery provisioned 780.   Finally, the line ends with the "8 Series," the 820QE and 830.   Both machines offer 12" of throat space, dual feed, a jumbo bobbin and automatic threading. The 820QE is a quilter's dream-machine with built-in quilting stitches and complete stitch editablity. The 830 does it all, offering embroidery, 360º multi-directional sewing, and much more. There is also an optional frame available for both machines that essentially turns it into a long-arm quilting machine!

Accessories

We sell all Bernina feet, accessories, & software in addition to machines.
